MTFS: If I get an orchiectomy will my metabolism be extremely low and will I keep gain weight no matter what?
Q. Well since testosterone gives you high metabolism, if you get an orchiectomy will you have no metabolism and will you just get fat?
Asked by Yamada S - Thu Feb 4 21:50:38 2010 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. What will happen is that on estrogen, your body will behave like any female body, and gain reproductive fat at the expense of muscle. When you lose muscle, your metabolism slows down. Without a corresponding reduction in caloric intake, or an increase in exercise, you will slowly tend to put on weight. This is one reason why women have a difficult time keeping weight off. Nature wants females to carry some extra fat in case they get pregnant.

Q. WhAt happens to a man after orchiectomy as far as ejaculation goes?
Asked by scottfree1704 - Sat Jul 12 10:10:43 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Semen fluid is produced up inside the body from seminal vesicles and prostate. Testicles only produce sperm that is added to the semen. Orchiectomy should not affect semen quantity at all.

Another orchiectomy question?
Q. My son just got an orchiectomy done this morning, and they also removed a hernia. The hernia caused the testicle not to drop. It was obstructing its path. He says he needs to go to the bathroom, but when he tries, urine doesnt come out. Why is this? Hes 10 and the whole surgery went smooth. Now Im thinking, if this is just all in his head or something...Is this normal?

A. Ask your doctor...it maybe that since he is only ten and the surgery was there, he maybe a little skiddish about going the first time...once he has to go bad enough he will. But you still need to let your doctor know...

transgender orchiectomy question?
Q. I have a question i recently had an orchietomy how long does it take for the effects of an orchiectomy to start working on your body like i notice that i don't have to shave as much but i wasn't hairy in the first place i know that for a transgender person it can cause breast growth and produce more fat than muscle but i need to know how long do those effects start to kick in on my body or anyone who had had this surgery your body

A. Obviously you've not had this done, as anyone who goes for this procedure is well aware of the aftereffects. Why not just ask an honest question like, "What happens when you get an orchiectomy?" Maybe this will help you...

trans gender Orchiectomy question?
Q. i made a appointment with my urologist and i am a man who wants to become a woman what are the chances that they will let me get a Orchiectomy i take estrogen
Asked by Alex - Tue Mar 9 16:47:14 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I'd say the chances are ZERO. Alex, looking over your other questions... 1) I get the strong impression you are a teenager. 2) I don't think that this is the truth. 3) I seriously doubt you "take estrogen", and if you do, I HOPE you are not self-medicating. 4) No doctor is going to give you an orchiectomy unless you've been diagnosed by a gender therapist as suffering from Transsexualism, and are in the process of Transitioning. Most likely, the surgeon would require a second professional to confirm the diagnosis. A transsexual woman is not a "man" who wants to become a woman, she is a woman who corrects her body so that it looks female. This is a SERIOUS condition and Transitioning is a SERIOUS process. You need to be 100% committed… [cont.]

A. Don't do it, its not necessary and your testicles are what makes you a man otherwise you will require hormone replacements for the rest of your life

Can men with a Bilateral Orchiectomy have a normal sex life? Is there pain after the procedure?
Q. I was wondering can men who have had both testicles removed have a normal sex life? I have read that with Testosterone Replacement Therapy they can and go on to live completely normal happy lives but I wanted to possibly hear from someone who has actually undergone this procedure. I also wanted to ask (since I currently may wind up losing the boys due to an infection) men who undergo this procedure for whatever reason who had testicular pain issues beforehand, can they expect that any testicular pain issues they had to be gone after this procedure due to the fact that the testicles & epididymitis are gone from the body?

A. Definitely YES! I had to have both of mine remived in 1985. I've been on HRT most of the time, but even without it I can still perform but I have a reduced sex drive. Sex is 97% mental.

Q. As we all are told the Roman Catholic Church practices celibacy within the clergy. And it uses the gospel to explain this by quoting Matthew 19:12. Serious Question: Anyone Like Me (Non-Transexual) Wish He Could Have Penis Removed?
Q. I'm not a mental case and I do not have transexual desires, but for quite a while now I have wished I could have my penis and testicles removed. I would love to have vaginoplasty surgery not to have the genbetalia of a female or to have sex with a man. It just seems that would be the preferred result of having a penectomy and bi-lateral orchiectomy. Serious replies, please, and I do not need a psychiatrist. Thanks!

A. I recently saw a programme where a teenager couldn't stand the constant erections so had his testicles removed. This was in the US. I don't think he would have found a doctor in the UK to do it, but who knows. Two years later, he bitterly regretted his decision and now has testicle implants. I do think you need counseling of some sort. It must be mental torture to feel how you do. I can offer no advice, just wish you luck.
